Elsie Mae Davis of Leonia, FL. passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 in Washington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was 86.


 


Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Geneva with Bro. Buddy Manning officiating. Burial will follow in Padgett Cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.


 


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice of Chipley, FL.


 


Mrs. Davis was born in Holmes County, FL. on May 13, 1929. She was a lifelong resident of the Leonia Community, settled in the 1950’s. She was Assembly of God by faith and a member of Camp Creek Assembly of God Church.


 


In Elsie’s retirement years she spent her time quilting and sewing and taking care of her family.


 


She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Ollie Greggs; husband, O. E. “Bill” Davis; daughter, Mary Evalynn; grandsons, Andy Davis and Jason Carter; brother, L. B. Greggs; sister, Emily Lou.


 


She is survived by her children: daughter, Pauline Padgett and her husband Lloyd, son, C. David Davis and his wife Belinda, son, Jerry Davis, daughter, Sonia (Michael Walters); grandchildren, Nicholas Davis (Jackie), Tori Wilson (David) and Scott Padgett (Joni); ten great-grandchildren; brother R. D. Greggs and his wife Frances; numerous nieces and nephews.


 


The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Mrs. Davis’ caregivers for the past two and a half years, Vicki Padgett and Sue McCormick. Also, a special thank you to Emerald Coast Hospice of Chipley, FL.
