EVERGREEN, ALABAMA…Elsie Mae Gladwell, a resident of Evergreen, Alabama, died Saturday afternoon, July 16, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. She was 90.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in the Old Town Cemetery, Evergreen, Alabama with Reverend Joey Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations, Headland, Alabama is in charge of funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Old Town Cemetery Fund, c/o Sara Wolff, 4983 Brooklyn Road, Evergreen, AL 36401.
Miss Gladwell was born and raised in Old Town, Alabama in Conecuh, County, daughter of the late Gideon Malcolm Gladwell and Elsie Mae Terry Gladwell. She lived in Evergreen all her adult lifetime where she was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church. Miss Gladwell was retired from Georgia Pacific of Monroeville as office manager and bookkeeper. In earlier years, she volunteered with the Conecuh Baptist Association as treasurer and also worked with Sparta Academy in Evergreen. Miss Gladwell was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Mullins, and four brothers, Glen Gladwell, James Gladwell, Harry Gladwell and Clarence Gladwell.
Surviving relatives include a sister, Jeanette Soles, Andalusia; a sister-in-law, Marlene Gladwell, Hope Hull, AL; numerous nieces and nephews including Sylvia Crews (Pete), Headland.
