DOTHAN….Elwyn Johnson Scott, a resident of Dothan, died early Friday morning, August 14, 2015, in a Dothan hospital. She was 76.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. (C.D.T.) Wednesday, August 19, 2015, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Tony Deese officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (E.D.T.) Wednesday in the Tallahassee Memory Gardens, 4037 Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. (C.D.T.) Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland. Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Scott, daughter of the late Robert Lee Johnson and Mary Louise Johnson, was born and reared in the Smyrna Community of Houston County. She was a 1957 graduate of Houston County High School in Columbia. Mrs. Scott formerly lived in Tallahassee, Florida and Thomasville, Georgia before returning to Dothan in 2001. She was retired as Office Manager with Suburban Propane Gas in Tallahassee. Mrs. Scott was a member of the Old Webb Road Baptist and a former member of the Seminole Baptist Church in Tallahassee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Scott and two brothers, Robert Lee Johnson, Jr. and James H. Johnson.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Rosalyn Scott (Larry), Crawfordville, FL and Deana Hamil (Gary), Carrollton, GA; a son, Theodore G. (Tad) Scott (Erica), Thomasville, GA; two sisters-in-law, Helon Scott, Dothan and Glenda Johnson, Crestview, FL; six grandchildren, Tyler Scott (Brittany), Karlyn Scott, Blake Hamil, Connor Hamil, Natalie Hamil and Brice Palmer; a great-grandson, Gunner Scott; numerous nieces and nephews.
