EDWIN COMMUNITY…Emma Lou Walker Tew, a resident of Dothan, formerly of the Edwin Community of Henry County, died Friday, January 29, 2021. She was 91.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, January 30, 2021, in the New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Edwin Community, with Reverend Danny Henderson and Jeffrey Pettis officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Terry Whaley, 5328 Walden Drive, Dothan, AL 36303.
Mrs. Tew was born and reared in the Edwin Community of Henry County, daughter of the late Phillip H. Walker and Callie Knight Walker. She lived most of her lifetime in the Edwin Community before moving to Dothan in 2016. Mrs. Tew was a member of the New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Oyd Tew, a sister, Kate Moore, and a brother, John Perry Walker.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Ann Tew Armstrong (Tracy); two grandchildren, Cole Armstrong and Emily Armstrong Pettis (Jeffrey); two great-grandchildren, Madison Pettis and Maddox Pettis; several nieces and nephews.
