Emory "Clay" Battle, 63, a resident of Orange Beach, Alabama passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Dothan.
Memorial services will be held 2 pm Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, AL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, Alabama 36303.
Mr. Battle was born May 13, 1949 in Barbour County Alabama and he lived the early years of his life in Eufaula. Mr. Battle was a 1967 graduate of Eufaula High School and attended Troy State University on a music scholarship. He has resided in Baldwin County, Alabama for 20 years, where he owned and operated a consumer finance company in Foley, Alabama. While residing in Fairhope he was very active with the Fairhope Youth Sports and an officer of Alabama Lender’s Association. Mr. Battle was preceded in death by his parents, Emory Clayton Battle and Martha Battle Crawford.
Survivors include his daughters, Christine Battle Gregory, Cumming, GA, Mary Allison Battle, Fairhope, AL; his son, Adam Clayton Battle, Fairhope, AL; three grandchildren, Devon Baker Gregory, Christian Gage Gregory and Ansley Marie Gregory; his sister, Jane Battle (Harry) Arnette, Dothan; two nieces, Michelle Arnette (Lance) Swanner and Katie Arnette (Dusty) Lindsey; two great-nieces and a great nephew; a very special friend and father figure, Smokey Berryman.
