EMORY “EARL” HERRING
COLUMBIA… Emory “Earl” Herring, a resident of Columbia, Alabama, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 22, 2024, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He was 76.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Larry Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Herring was born in Early County, Georgia to the late Curtis & Myrtice Herring. He lived in Georgia and California before moving back to Columbia, Alabama twenty-five years ago. He served his country in the US Army. Earl was a small engine mechanic by trade. He loved woodworking, which included making furniture, bird-houses, and trinkets. He loved raising his beautiful rose gardens. Mr. Herring was also an avid Alabama Football fan.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Herring and his sister, Sarah Clark.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Rhonda Lanton Herring; his daughters, Pam Daniels (Allan) and Debbie Culbreth (Joel); his sons, Chris Herring (April), Keith Herring (Tuesday), and Dallas Givens (Tiffany); his twelve grandchildren; and his three great-grandchildren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Travis Culbreth, Justin Herring, AJ Whitten, Dallas Herring, Nic Newton, and Corbin Phillips.
