ERIC DWAYNE BLACKBURN


HEADLAND… Eric Dwayne Blackburn, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021, at his home. He was 48.


            A memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. before the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.


            The family has requested there to be no flowers and that contributions be made to The House of Ruth, P.O. Box 968 Dothan, Alabama 36302.


            Mr. Blackburn was born in Chicago, Illinois to Doris Faye Smith and the late William Jesse Blackburn. He was a sheet metal mechanic in the HVAC industry before he had to medically retire. He moved to the Headland, Alabama area 15 years ago. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Headland.


            Along with his father, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Burg; and his brothers, Michael Smith and Billy Blackburn.


            Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Brona Combs; his sons, Jesse Dwayne Blackburn and Dalton Kyle Blackburn; his mother, Doris Faye Smith; his sisters, Hope Thomas and Dawn Clark; his brother, Christopher Blackburn.
