Mr. Eric Shawn Alford of Samson, Alabama passed away Friday, August 23, 2024. He was 56.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Branch officiating. Burial will follow in Reese Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

 Eric was born in Pensacola, FL on January 17, 1968 to the late Clifford Allen and Janice Jenell Adkison Alford. He was a 1986 graduate of Samson High School.  He was a die-hard “Alabama Crimson Tide” fan. During his working career, Eric was employed as a commercial truck driver and later employed at Ft. Rucker as an avionics technician. Eric will be forever remembered by his love to joke, carry on foolishness and make people laugh.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Welton Clifford Alford.

 Eric is survived by one son, Zack Alford (Abby) and one granddaughter, Holly Katherine Alford, and one on the way in September, Heidi Belle Alford, all of Samson, AL; special friend, Jade Booker of Daleville, AL and several special extended family and friends.
