LONG BEACH, WA…Esther Mirabelle Thomas of Long Beach, Washington entered into the eternal Kingdom of God on September 28, 2023, at the age of 16.
Esther was born August 31, 2007, in Fayetteville, Georgia to proud parents John Gregory Thomas of Sharpsburg, Georgia and Sundrea Dawn Foster Thomas of Newnan, Georgia. Esther lived in Leesburg, Georgia until 3rd grade when her family moved to the Long Beach Peninsula. Esther attended Ocean Park Elementary School, Hilltop Middle School, and most recently, Ilwaco High School.
Esther was a vital part of the ministry team at New Life Church in Ilwaco, Washington. She regularly sounded the call to worship on the shofar and ran sound and music weekly. Esther was also an exceptional student at IHS as well as a musician and student athlete. Esther played trumpet in the IHS Jazz band and IHS Concert Band. She was also a double letterman in Cross Country and Track and Field where she excelled as a jumper including long jump, triple jump, pole vault, and high jump. She was also a Skills USA State competitor in Crime Scene Investigation.
Esther was beloved by her friends and family recognized as being creative, sassy, silly, and fun. She was a gifted scientist, excellent mathmagician, a collector of rubber duckies and tiny treasures, and a distributor of Dougs.
Esther is survived by Father John Thomas, Life Giver Sundrea Thomas, and Seebling (Sister) Tazlina Thomas. Extended surviving family include Grandparents James G. and Karen Thomas of Ozark Alabama, David and Karen Foster of Eatonton, Georgia and Great Grandfather James O. Thomas also of Ozark as well as loving aunts, uncles, and cousins from both sides of the family. Esther is preceded in death by Great Grandmother Susie Thomas of Ozark and sister Fenix Thomas.
The entire community is invited to attend a Celebration of Life for Esther at Hilltop Middle School Auditorium on Sunday, October 8th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to New Life Church in Ilwaco so that they can continue to minister to our community.
Celebration of Life Services in Ozark, Alabama at the Ozark First Assembly of God Church will be announced by Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark.
