Eugene Ellis, of Dothan, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2017 at Bill Nichols State Veteran Home. He was 86.

A memorial service will be held 2 pm, Friday May 5, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home with military honors following in Sunset Memorial Park.

Mr. Ellis was born in Victoria, Alabama. He lived his earlier years in Jack, Alabama until he joined the United States Army, where he served in World War II and Korean War. Mr. Ellis was enlisted with Emerson Electric for 20 years prior to his retirement in 1998. He owned and operated Apollo Automotive and Truck for 5 years until his retirement.

Mr. Ellis is survived by his sons, Edward Ellis, Millard Keith Ellis, Robert Wayne Ellis, Richard Dwight Ellis, and William Grant Ellis; his 10 grandchildren; his four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
