DOTHAN…Eunice Ott Maddox, a resident of Dothan, died Friday morning, October 5, 2018, at her home. She was 91.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, October 7, 2018, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Norman C. Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. in the mortuary chapel.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL 36303, or Kinsey Baptist Church, 6745 Walden Dr., Kinsey, AL 36303.
Mrs. Maddox was born and reared in Dothan, daughter of the late Harmon Thomas Ott and Fannie Frances Champion Ott. She was a graduate of Campbell Business College where she earned an Associate’s Degree. Mrs. Maddox and her late husband owned and operated Maddox Transmission from 1954 until 1997. She lived near Headland from 1976 until 2013 when she returned to Dothan. Mrs. Maddox was a member of Kinsey Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Horace Maddox; four sisters, Annie Pearl Wilkerson, Flossie Johnson, Alice Cherry and Margaret Johnson; and three brothers, Arthur Ott, James Ott and Shelby Ott.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Cheryl Willis (Joel), Dothan; three sons, Bruce Maddox (Cathy), Montgomery, Gary Maddox (JoAnn), Dothan, and Dan Maddox (Sharon), Headland; a sister, Audrey McNeal (Reynolds), Dothan; eleven grandchildren, Ami Evans (Eric), Brad Maddox (Tate), Natalie Pirne (Rob), Allison Maddox, Sharon Norris, Jodi Bensley, Jason Maddox, Jenny Whitehurst (Jeremy), Amber Traylor (Adam), Ben Willis (Shannon Hulon) and Jessica Vivone (Josh); and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Kindred Hospice, especially Mollie Rayford, Darlene Brantley, Chaplain Eddie Biss, and Angela Turner, as well as caregivers, Deanna Proper, Christina Sims and Kaylan Fraizer for the loving care and kindness shown to their mother.
