Evelyn Cain Green, 86, of Midland City passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Midland City Methodist Church with Pastor Heather Peacock officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm prior to the service at the church. At other times the family will be at 212 Dale Circle, Midland City, AL.

Evelyn was born May 6, 1925 and grew up in the Ewell Community. She graduated from Dale County High School in 1943. During her senior year she was employed with the Dale County Courthouse. After graduation she was employed with Dothan Manufacturing Company for ten years. She retired from Oakview Manor Nursing Home as Activity Director after more than 20 years of employment. Evelyn was a member of the Midland City Methodist Church and lived in Midland City for over 44 years. She was a very kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Hollis and Effie Cain, husband Otis Delmas Green, a daughter Frankie Parker, grandsons, Billy Bankston, Jr. and Jerry Scott Sullivan, sons-in-law, Mikie Walding, Harry Parker, and Robert Stephens, a sister Doris Clark, and a brother Billy Cain.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Walding, Carolyn (Jerry) Sullivan, and Gail Stephens all of Midland City, AL; a son Randy (Lisa) Green of Newton, AL; grandchildren, Mikie (Janet) Walding, Jr., Mark (Kim) Walding, Melissa Sheffield, Christi (Ricky) Sullivan, Blake Stephens, Krystal Stephens all of Midland City, AL, Matt Green and Todd Green of Newton, AL, and Brandi (Ben) Johnson of Rehobeth, AL; great-grandchildren, Michael (Halie) Walding, Mason Walding, Kacie Walding, Maegan Walding, Courtney Vann, Angel Sheffield, Dallas Sheffield, and Sierra Sheffield all of Midland City, AL, Averee Johnson of Rehobeth, AL; great-great-granddaughter Madilyn Walding of Midland City, AL; her sisters, Dale (James) Bowman of Dothan and Catherine Parrish of Portsmouth, VA.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mikie Walding, Jr., Mark Walding, Michael Walding, Mason Walding, Dallas Sheffield, Blake Stephens, Matt Green, and Todd Green.
