Evelyn F. Bolin went up to heaven in the arms of the angels to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 8, 2014. She was 69 years old. She is now free of all pain.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday September 12, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home with Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born in Burnside, Kentucky on March 3, 1945 to the late Goldie Christine Abbott and raised by her stepfather Claud Abbott. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and later when she moved to Dothan Mount Gilead Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Ruby Joyce Butler and Leon C. Butler; numerous nieces and nephews; and a "special granddaughter" Haley Rose Erp.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Bessie, Cora Jane, Francis, Mary and Martha, and brothers Junior and Paul.

Evelyn was born "special" and loved people. She saw beauty from within. She lived a hard life at times due to being "special" but she loved the Lord and always forgave. She loved her family and was blessed with the love returned.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Gentiva Hospice Volunteer Program, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303.

Special thanks to her caregivers Danella and Jackson Erp, and to Karson Erp for all his help, and to the loving nurses Penny Chandler and Jenetha Oliver, and all the other staff at Gentiva Hospice.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Greg Thornton, Karson Erp, Billy Erp, Jackson Erp, Leon Butler and Ronnie Childree.
