Evelyn Maxine Stoops, a resident of Slocomb passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at her residence. She was 71 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jonathan Broyles officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ms. Stoops was born April 3, 1947 in Newville, AL and lived the early part of her life there. She attended Newville and Rehobeth schools. She loved to sing and dance and had a contagious laugh and smile along with a heart of gold. Everyone who knew her loved her. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her partner of 40 years, Ben Whitehead; son, Michael Chad (Jannifer) Stoops; daughters, Tina Chatterjee and Halena Anderson; grandchildren, Tabetha Stoops (fiancé Jamison Hatcher), Jeremy (Courtney) Lint, Julian Ammons, Ben Anderson, TJ Doran, Elizabeth Stoops, Ashton Moseley, Jaley Moseley, Tristen Lint, Lena Mae Stoops, Bradon Hunter Stoops, Jordan Franklin, Blaine Franklin, Adalee Gardner, Scarlett Hatcher and Savvana Tillery; Noah and Ezekial Ammons; sisters, Judy Niday, Ann Morris and Virginia Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Lena Mae Woods; her brothers, Bobby Joe Adkison, Russell Woods and Bill Andrews.
Pallbearers will be Phil Donato, Chris French, Andre Clements, Julian Ammons, Ashton Moseley, Charles Godwin, and Jamison Hatcher.
