Evelyn Thompson Thomas, a longtime resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 in Birmingham, AL She was 90.
Mrs. Thomas taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church for 26 years and retired as an officer at South trust Bank after 36 years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 2 P. M. from the Chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Dr. Johnny Fain officiating. Burial will follow in Dothan City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 P. M. one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the children’s ministry at First Baptist Church of Dothan.
Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her husband, Roland H. Thomas, her parents, Eva and Colley Thompson and her brother Harold Thompson.
Survivors include two daughters; Terri Richards and husband Glenn of Birmingham, AL and Jeanie Emblom and husband David of Dothan; five grandchildren, Brian, Reagan and Cason Richards and David Emblom, Jr. and Kelsey Emblom; one sister, Anita Gwaltney of Opp, AL and a cherished friend Robbie Brown, and a special thank you to her caregiver, Ruth McGhee
