FANNIE  BELLE  FOLKES


DOTHAN. . .Fannie Belle Adams Folkes, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday morning, January 14, 2018, in a Dothan hospital. She was 77.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00  A.M. Wednesday, January 17, 2018, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Brother Billy Womack and Reverend Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.


            Mrs. Folkes was born and reared in Houston County and was a lifelong resident of Dothan, daughter of the late Harvey O. Adams and Mable Williams Adams. She was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. Mrs. Folkes was retired from Perdue Farms and was formerly employed by Swift Packing Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Hugh Folkes and by her loving canine companions, Joy and Lucy.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Melanie C. Prevatt (James), Dothan; a son, Bradley H. Folkes (Dedra), Cottonwood; a sister, Peggy Sue Chason (Wayne), Newton; four grandchildren, Tristan Folkes, Manon Folkes, Trevor Folkes and Chad Carter (Haley); a step-grandson, Kaleb Graham; ten great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Joan Seay.


            Serving as active pallbearers, Tommy Bell, Tristan Folkes, Chad Carter, Don Carter, Earl Hand and Ronnie Taylor.
