Faye “Gigi” Spivey Kelly, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at her residence. She was 58.
Mrs. Kelly was born on December 10, 1960 in Fort Benning, Georgia and lived the early years of her life in Columbus. “Gigi” as her grandchildren called her, was a very Patriotic American and was a proud supporter of her husband’s military career. Not only was Gigi a strong-willed natural leader, she was very generous, nurturing, and loving. One of her passions was travel which satisfied her exploring nature. She enjoyed making meticulous plans for the adventures she would take with her family. Gigi loved the beach, mountains, and the desert southwest, but her true happy place was in a beach chair watching a sunset. Adventurous and fearless, she wasn’t afraid to try anything new like places or foods. Also a huge music fan, she loved every kind of music, from Bach to U2. The most important thing to know about Gigi is she adored her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Suzanne Kelly and her parents, Luther J. Spivey and Margaret Pauline Williams.
She is survived by her husband, LTC (RET) Kevin Kelly; her daughter, Catherine “Cat” (Branham) Daniels; grandchildren, Cameron Alexander Daniels and Bryce Carter Daniels; brothers, Dwayne (Marlena) Spivey and Lee (Kim) Spivey; sisters, Janet Evelyn Spivey and Julie Kay (John) Wingate; and 3 nephews, Brandon Lee Spivey, Sean Michael Kelly and Jesse Spivey.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at 11 am Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Stiffler - Hamby Mortuary in her hometown of Columbus, GA. The family is asking for donations in her honor, in lieu of flowers, to the American Cancer Society.
