SHORTERVILLE.. .Faye Hutto Wood, a resident of Shorterville, died late Tuesday night, October 25, 2022, in the Ft. Gaines Health & Rehab. She was 82.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 29, 2022, in the Shorterville Baptist Church with Reverend Guy Causey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Mrs. Wood was a lifelong resident of Shorterville, daughter of the late Bernard Hutto and Nettie Morrison Hutto. She was a member of the Shorterville Baptist Church. Mrs. Wood was retired from WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Wood, her son-in-law, Bobby Woods, a sister, Elaine Hutto Dansby and a brother, Marlyn Hutto.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Tereasa Woods, Shorterville; a son, Glenn Wood (Carole), Slocomb; a brother, Robert Hutto (Evelyn), and a sister-in-law, Barbara Wood, all of Abbeville; three grandchildren, Chris Woods (Shana), Kelli Jackson (Mark), and Jeremiah Wood (Courtney); seven great-grandchildren, Adam Jackson, Christian Woods, Reagan Woods, Jeremiah Wood, Jr., Ben Jackson, Grayson Wood and Sarah Jackson
Serving as active pallbearers will be Chris Woods, Christian Woods, Mark Jackson, Adam Jackson, Ben Jackson and Jimmy Mobley.
