Faye Marie Galloway, 91, of Geneva, Alabama passed away March 4, 2016. She suffered from a recent stroke, and had congestive heart failure and renal disease. Her passing is a blessed relief from this suffering even though her family is deeply saddened. Her family and friends celebrate the joyous events of her life, and her devotion to her Geneva home.
Faye was born in Samson, Alabama on September 17, 1924 to Roxie and Walter Wilks. She attended Geneva County High School (Hartford, Al) where she met and married her husband, Buford, in 1941. He passed away March 25, 1967. Faye retired from Van Heusen in 1992 after 37 years of loyal service. She was very proud of her daughter, Barbara Ann and granddaughter, Jill Marie. She was also active in her community, First Baptist Church and Sunday school.
Faye is preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Kulon and Roland Wilks. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Charles) Conditt and granddaughter, Jill Gramigna, all of Pensacola.
The family wishes to thank Jan Dixon and the staff at Greenwood Assisted Living Facility in Geneva for their loving care of Faye. Also the family wishes to thank Dr. John Simmons for his care.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Nathan Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.
