ECHO COMMUNITY. . .Faye Payne Riley, a resident of the Echo Community of Dale County, died Friday night, July 29, 2022, at her home. She was 83.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in the Echo United Methodist Church with Reverend Sam Williams and Reverend Alan Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Children’s Home, In memory of Faye Riley, 4001 Carmichael Road Suite 235, Montgomery, AL 36106.
Mrs. Riley was born in Dale County and was raised in Skipperville, daughter of the late Ruben Elberton Payne and Zadie Delilah Garner Payne. She lived in the Echo Community most of her adult lifetime. Mrs. Riley was a member of the Echo United Methodist Church. She was retired from the Dale County Board of Education as a School Bus Driver. In earlier years, she was employed as a secretary with an insurance agency in Ozark. Mrs. Riley was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Hugh Riley and a brother, Guy Hilton Payne.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Krista Scott (William), Midland City; Phyllis Ledbetter, Echo Community; and Tammy Plante (Will), Bertha Community; sisters-in-law, Carol Payne, Skipperville; and Charlotte Grantham, Bertha Community; four grandchildren, Andy Glover (Carissa), Gina Brown (Perry), Dana Benton (Alex), and Phillip Plante; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Glover, J. P. Brown, Mattie Brown and Lucy Brown.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Phillip Plante, Andy Glover, Hunter Glover, Alex Benton, Logan Kirkland and Perry Brown.
