Faye Roney Ethridge


Faye Roney Ethridge, a resident of Dothan, died Friday, April 12, 2013. She was 85.


Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Dr. Lawson Bryan and Rev. Orrin Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 2-3:45 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Southeast Alabama Medical Center Foundation, 1922 Fairview Ave., Dothan, AL 36301.


Mrs. Ethridge was born June 9, 1927 in Henry County to the late Ludie Stephens and Willie Huey Roney. She married James Edward Ethridge in 1950. They were together 54 years when he died in 2004. She was vice president of D. Ethridge. Mrs. Ethridge was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School class. She also sang in the adult choir.


 In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Holley.


 Survivors include a son, David Ethridge (Carol) of Dothan; a daughter, Ronda Holley of Lynn Haven, FL; 6 grandchildren, Amy Cristina (Paul), April Riley (Shane), Claire Ethridge McLean (Wes), Will Ethridge (Shena), Amy Myers (Richard), and Chip McKnight (Jennifer); 8 great-grandchildren, Madison Riley, Aubrey Cristina, Weston McLean, Caroline, Callie, Gabe, and Amelia Mae Myers, and Allyson Whitaker; 2 sisters, Christine Beasley and Sarah McKnight; a brother, Bruce Roney, Sr. (Georgia); numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.


Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Beasley, Robert Waters, Brian Waters, John Stephens, Ronald Ethridge, Richard Myers, Ron Mason, and Dr. Wayne Prim. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joy Sunday School class.
