DOTHAN…Faye Skeen Hamm, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday afternoon February 11, 2021, in a Dothan hospital. She was 83.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 15, 2021, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Jeff Ross officiating. Entombment will follow in the Gardens of Memory mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday in the mortuary. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Baptist Church, 1951 Westgate Parkway, Dothan, AL 36303.
Mrs. Hamm was born and reared in Henry County, daughter of the late Legon L. Skeen and Willie Mae Smith Skeen. She lived in Clayton for 33 years and also in Headland before moving to Dothan in 2004. Mrs. Hamm was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church and was a former member of the Clayton Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Headland. She sang in the church choir at Clayton Baptist and also at Heritage Baptist. Mrs. Hamm was formerly employed in the dental office of Dr. James L. Rogers and in the optometrist office of Dr. Danny Hartzog, both in Clayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orvis G. Hamm, and a brother, Terry Skeen.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Wanda Hamm, Montgomery; a son, Garry Hamm (Grace Miller), Dothan; four sisters, Peggy Herring, Abbeville; Ann Walker, South Carolina; Martha Dunagan, Cullman, AL; and Rosa McCoy (Tommy), Abbeville; two brothers, Jerry Skeen (Phyllis), Panama City Beach, FL; and Mickey Skeen, Abbeville; two grandchildren, Tori Hamm and Amber Hamm; two sisters-in-law, Sybil Peak (Marvin) and Pat Ham, a brother-in-law, Truett Ham (Mary).
