Finas Harold Harris, Jr., a resident of Daleville, passed away at his home Thursday, September 26, 2019. He was the son of Edna Windham and Finas Harold Harris, Sr.

He was cremated, per his wishes, at Searcy Funeral Home in Enterprise. There will not be a public memorial service, but the family will hold a celebration of life at a yet to be determined date in the future.

Harold was born on April 5, 1943 at Camp Rucker. He was passionate about journalism, cinema, and Broadway productions. During his professional journalism career working for the Federal Times he had the honor of meeting, as well as interviewing, various politicians. This included former Presidents Johnson and Ford. Harold moved to New York City shortly after.

It is while residing in NYC he fell in love with Hollywood films and Broadway productions, keeping all of the playbills as mementos for the rest of his life. While in New York, he was involved in various social justice movements. Many of these causes and organizations remained dear to his heart until the day of his passing.

Harold is survived by his nephew Eric Evans, niece Amanda Evans, various family and friends in the surrounding community, and also by his dear friend Rueben Keys. He will be missed by all and his family is planning to create a scholarship fund for young people interested in the performing arts in the near future.
