Flora Ann Chesser Dorman, a resident of Wesley Manor, formerly of Midland City, went home to be with her Savior Thursday, December 15, 2011. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Murray Kelley and Danny Corley officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospsice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.
Flora was born in Vance, Alabama, August 26, 1921, living in Birmingham most of her life. She moved to the Dothan area in 1982. She was a member of the American Rosie the Riveter Association having worked in ammunition factories in World War II. Flora was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker and caregiver taking care of young and old receiving many blessings in this service. She was a member of Dothan First Assembly of God and served as a nursery worker and Sunday School teacher.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George T. Chesser and Eula Hammett Chesser of Birmingham and her husband, Hiram T. Dorman of Birmingham.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Julie and Thomas Holt of Dothan and JoAnn and Hugh Collins of Americus Georgia, three grandchildren, Thomas Collins, Crystal Holt and Brian Collins and many special friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and residents of Wesley Manor, Pastor Murray Kelley and staff and members of Dothan First Assembly of God and Pastor Danny Corley of New Season Fellowship Church.
