ABBEVILLE. . . Florence Brannon Mitchell, a resident of Abbeville, formerly of Dothan, died late Saturday night, April 2, 2022, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility. She was 103.
There are no funeral or memorial services planned at this time. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mitchell was born and reared in the Old Center Community of Henry County, daughter of the late Hurley Dewitt Brannon and Elsie Wood Brannon. She was a 1939 graduate of Newville High School and received a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where she retired as a L.P.N. after many yearsemployment. Mrs. Mitchell lived in Dothan before moving to Abbeville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tallahassee. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Mitchell, a son, Marshall Mitchell, Jr. and two brothers, Olice Brannon and Adus Brannon.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Emily Loberg, Singapore; a special niece, Betty Barnes and her husband, Bill, of Abbeville.
