Foye Simmons Russell of Sorrento, Florida passed away Friday, September 27, 2013.  She was 90 years old.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at Corner Creek Cemetery in Hacoda, Alabama with Pastor Sam Williams officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.

 Mrs. Russell was born in Hacoda on October 15, 1922 to the late John H. Simmons and Clemmie Simmons.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Russell, Sr.; and all five of her siblings, Dorothy Garcia, Elaine Mitchell, John H. Simmons, Jr,, Woodrow Simmons and Steagall Simmons.

She is survived by her daughter, Rita Pitts and husband, Robert E. Pitts, Jr.; son, Harry E. Russell, Jr. and wife, Carol; two grandsons, Robert E. Pitts, III and Wynn Pitts; and two great grandchildren, Robert Whitfield Pitts and Hannah Leigh Pitts.
