FRANCES FARRIS THOMAS



MIDLAND CITY…..Frances Farris (Porkchop Frannie) Thomas, a resident of Midland City, died Sunday morning, August 10, 2014, at her sister’s home. She was 69.


            Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 16, 2014, in the Worship Center of First Baptist Church of Headland with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the Worship Center. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Attn: Katie Rotton, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36311.


            Mrs. Thomas, daughter of the late Carlis Johnson Farris, Sr. and Georgia Elizabeth Farris, was a native of Peoria, Illinois. She formerly lived in Dothan before moving to Midland City in 1994. Mrs. Thomas attended First Baptist Church of Headland. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Moseley and a step-grandson, Sealie Harrell.


            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Lisa Brown Smith (C.J.), Columbia and Bobbie Jo Saxon (Dwayne), Headland; a son, Lance Lint (Tammy), Blakely, GA; a sister, Carolyn Wright (Jim), Avon; brother, Carlis Farris, Jr. (Janice), Ashford; step-children, Carolyn Brown Edison (Jack), Birmingham, AL and George W. Brown, Jr., Midland City; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
