Frances Fay Kellison Foran, cherished wife, daughter, sister, educator, counselor, and devoted servant of her God, community, and faith, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the age of 60. Frances passed away at home following a valiant battle with cancer.


Fran was born in Omaha, Nebraska as the oldest of three children to Francis Edward and Myrna Fay Kellison. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Science Education from Southwest Texas State University, she embarked on a career in education where she touched the hearts and minds of countless students. She later earned her master’s degree in Science Education from Troy State University at Dothan so she could go on to teach at the college level and then work as an at-risk counselor. Her commitment to fostering at-risk student learning went beyond the classroom as she dedicated herself to working with various church programs mostly vacation bible school, where she nurtured the spiritual growth of children with boundless enthusiasm and love.


Beyond her profession, church, and community endeavors, Fran cherished her role as a loving wife to Derek, finding solace and joy in their shared journey through life. She also shared a deep bond with her brother Ed, sister Lisa, and their parents, whose love and support her through her life’s trials.


Fran leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith that will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know her. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.


A Celebration of Fran’s life will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Memphis Baptist Church with Brothers Jim Tate and Clay Greathouse officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00pm until the start of the service.


Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the Whosoever Will Life Group at Memphis Baptist Church.
