FRANCES CULPEPPER WHITE
NEWVILLE. . .Frances (Lizzie) Culpepper White, a resident of Newville, died Tuesday night, January 1, 2013, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville. She was 101.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 3, 2013, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Bryan Klobe and Reverend Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr. officiating. Graveside services will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Reverend Blake Benge officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 13, Newville, AL 36353.
Mrs. White was born and reared in Henry County, daughter of the late Sylvester Culpepper and Eva Gertrude Hall Culpepper. She lived in the Tolbert Community of Henry County most of her lifetime and also in Montgomery and Dothan before moving to Newville in 1986. Mrs. White was a member of the Newville Baptist Church. In earlier years, she was employed by WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, James Wayne White, a son-in-law, Dewitt Roberson, a sister, Ruth McClenny, and three brothers, Marcus Culpepper, James Miller and Milton Miller.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Dorathy (Dot) White Roberson, Autaugaville, AL; a son, James V. (Pete) White and wife, Kathryn, Newville; sisters-in-law, Sally Miller and Betty Miller; three grandchildren, Dr. Ronnie Roberson (Melanie), Kathy W. Martin (Russ), and Cinda W. Peavy (Terry); seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
