Frances Marie Stanford, a resident of Midland City, Alabama passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018. She was 78.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3:00 p.m. on Sunday. At other times, the family will be at her daughter’s residence, 1807 Crenshaw Drive, Dothan, AL. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Corinth Freewill Baptist Church cemetery fund.

Mrs. Stanford was born on May 18, 1940 in Pike County, AL and spent the early part of her life there. She graduated from high school in 1958 and moved to Midland City in 1963. She was of the Assembly of God faith and spent her life serving God and others. Mrs. Stanford was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bessie Green, her husband, Gerald Stanford, her son, Sam Stanford, her brother, Edward Green, and her granddaughter, Kristin Ricks.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy (Doug) Phillips; her sons, Greg (Lene) Ricks and Dewayne Stanford; her grandchildren, Alex Phillips, Judson (Robin) Ricks, and Jessica (Steven) Walker; her great-grandchildren, Balean Walker and Evelyn Ricks; a sister, Pat (Boyd) Drinkard; her brother, Kenneth (Oppie) Green.
