SHORTERVILLE. . .Frances Walker Baxley, a resident of Shorterville, died late Wednesday night, December 13, 2023, at the home of a daughter in Pelham, Alabama. She was 79.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 30, 2023, in the Shorterville Baptist Church with Reverend Mickey Skinner officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to The Wings of Hope Pediatric Foundation, 251 Highway 438, Wilsonville, AL 35186.
Mrs. Baxley was born and reared in Henry County, near Abbeville, daughter of the late Frank Theodore Walker and Geraldine Justice Walker. She lived in Abbeville and Shorterville all her life. She formerly owned and operated Corner Convenience Store in Abbeville. Mrs. Baxley was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Baxley, a granddaughter, Jordan Turner, a brother, Franklin Walker and a son-in-law, J. T. Turner.
Surviving relatives include her daughters, Donna Holguin (Pete), San Antonio, TX; Danielle Turner (Jeffrey Walker), Pelham, AL; and Charmon Brown (Lee), Fadette, AL; sons, Joey Blalock (Susan), Trussville, AL; and Lee Blalock (Tonia), Headland; sisters, Faye Cricione (Gary), and Navis Bourland (Sam), all of Washington; a brother, Jerry Walker (Patricia), Abbeville; nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
