FRANCES  WOOLEY  JOHNSON




COLUMBIA. . .Frances Wooley Johnson, a resident of Columbia, died Tuesday morning, March 18, 2014, in the Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely, Georgia. She was 88.


            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 20, 2014, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan, with Brother Keith Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


            Mrs. Johnson was born in Marion County, Georgia, near Buena Vista, daughter of the late Walter Wooley and Susie Horne Wooley. She moved to Columbia in 1958 where she was formerly employed by the Judy Bond Blouse Company. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Johnson, a son, Gene Johnson, a granddaughter, Jennifer Johnson, four sisters, and a brother.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Vickie J. McLendon (Andy), Columbus, GA; two sons, David Johnson, Dothan; and Randy Johnson (Dale), Webb, AL; four grandchildren, Kevin, Dawn, Nick, and Wendy; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Karsyn.


            The family would like to express their appreciation to special caregiver, Bonnie Sims, and friends and staff of the Early Memorial Nursing Home, for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Johnson during her lifetime.
