Francis A. Beat, a resident of Ozark, Alabama and formerly of Kingman, KS, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Dale Medical Center. She was 81 years old.


Ms. Beat was born May 10, 1937 in Haviland, KS to the late George M. & Helen M. (Richards) Fruit. During her 33 years working for Southwestern Bell she lived in Denver, CO, Harlingen, TX, Pratt, KS, Dodge City, KS, Wichita, KS, and finally retiring from Oklahoma City, OK. Following retirement, she became a licensed CNA for the State of Kansas. She loved to work in her garden and travel, her favorite destinations being Hawaii and Alaska. She was also very proud of her family and their military service.


Survivors include her children, Bret (Mary) Jones, Gerald (Theresa) Beat, Erica (Kevin) McKinney, and Eric (Cynthia) Beat; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Georgia Beatty, Elizabeth Adams, Linda King, and Sandra Justice. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Martha Gamble, Glenna McDaniel, George Fruit, Jean & Jewell Fruit, and Baby Fruit.


Memorial services will be held on May 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Haviland, Kansas Cemetery.
