Frank Robert Paul, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama (Holiday Shores on Lake Eufaula), died Saturday morning, August 25, 2018, at his home. He was 75.
Funeral services, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 A.M. (EDT), Wednesday, August 29, 2018, in the Fort Gaines Presbyterian Church with Pastor Wade G. Spooner officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. (EDT) Wednesday in the church fellowship hall. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ft. Gaines Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 157, Ft. Gaines, GA 39851.
Mr. Paul was a native of Princeton, New Jersey, son of the late Frank Paul and Miriam Whyte Paul. He retired from the U. S. Army with rank of CW5 and served his country during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart and Distinguished Service Cross. While serving in the military, he was an Apache Instructor Pilot. After retirement from the military, Mr. Paul worked for various military contracting companies as a Logistical Contractor. He was member of the Ft. Gaines Presbyterian Church. Mr. Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Miriam Paul.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Ingrid Paul, Abbeville; three daughters, Sara Hicks (Travis), Savannah, GA; Briana Nester and Renee Stratman, both of Memphis, TN; a son, Scott Paul (Heather), Tallahassee, FL; two step-daughters, Melinda Finney, Dothan; and Shannon Standifer (Kevin), San Antonio, TX; a step-son, David Finney, Abbeville; several grandchildren including Conner Hicks and several step-grandchildren.
