ABBEVILLE. . .Frankie Belcher White, a resident of Abbeville, died early Thursday morning, August 6, 2015, at her home. She was 88.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, August 8, 2015, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Elder Bridgman Harris and Elder Ross Plowden officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the County Line Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Betty Calhoun, 898 County Road 37, Abbeville, AL 36310 or to the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Michele Price, 170 County Road 258, Abbeville, AL 36310.
Mrs. White was a native of Bowen Community of Henry County, daughter of the late Jesse Green Belcher and Jennie Sowell Belcher. She was a 1945 graduate of Abbeville High School. Mrs. White was a member of the County Line Primitive Baptist Church. She formerly lived in Eufaula before returning to Abbeville in 1954. In earlier years, Mrs. White was employed by the Home Extension Service in Abbeville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lowell (Bob) White, a son, Jessie Ronnie White, three brothers, Mark Belcher, John Belcher and Ed Belcher.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sandra Baxter (Jimmy), Eufaula; two sons, Bruce White (Vicky), Shelby, NC; and David White (Denise), Abbeville; a brother, Billy Belcher (Carolyn), Beaufort, SC; a special niece, Barbara Belcher Gray (Everett), Russellville, AR; twelve grandchildren, Robie White (Lisa), Leigh Anderson (Hal), Dawn Green (Jay), Jess White, Wiley Baxter (Leigh), Sloan Baxter (Jacklyn), Wendi Marshall (Wesley), Nichole Thomas (Jamie), Vida Jones (Matt), Grayson White, Chelse Culpepper, and Caylee Culpepper; seventeen great-grandchildren, Samantha White, Ross White, Travis McSwain, Jacklyn White, Payden White, Brandon Abernathy, Kyli Baxter, Caleb Marshall, Joshua Marshall, Ryleigh Baxter, Scarlett Baxter, Zoey Jones, Drew McGowan, Jayden Green, Jolie Green, Brittany Allums, and Josh Allums; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Robie, Wiley, Sloan, Jess, Grayson, and Drew.
