Fred Berkley Shirah, Sr., a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at his residence. He was 70.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 10 am in Wilmer Cemetery in Wilmer, Alabama.

Fred was born on August 17, 1947 in Mobile, Alabama and lived his early years there. He moved to Dothan in 1963 where he attended Wallace Community College. Fred was employed with Phelps Trailer Company and later Dothan Glass Company until his retirement.

Mr. Shirah was preceded in death by Glenn Vickers of Mobile, AL, William Vickers of Mobile, AL, Clement C Shirah of Mobile, AL, Myrah C Baker of Mobile, AL, Kenneth R Shirah of Mobile, AL, Mom, Helen L Shirah of Mobile, AL and Dad, Charlie C Shirah of Picayune, Miss.

Survivors include his children, Lt. Col. Fred Berkley (Cynthia) Shirah, Jr., Christopher Paul Shirah, Sr., Amy (Jimmy) Prather and Kimberly D. Shirah; nine grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; Dewey C Vickers, Wayne E Shirah, Joe E Shirah (Charlotte) and Kathy M Covington (Jerry).
