FRED  SIMS

ASHFORD. . .Fred Sims, a resident of Ashford, died late Thursday night, May 22, 2014, in a Dothan hospital. He was 71.

            Funeral services will be held at 4:30 P.M. Sunday, May 25, 2014, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Thomas D. Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Abbeville. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 4:30 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Headland.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vaughn-Blumberg Center, 2715 Flynn Road, Dothan, AL 36303.

            Surviving are his special family, April and Keith Wright, and their son, Seth Wright, who Fred lovingly called “Lamar”, John and Janet Ridgeway, Ken Preston, Mandy Redding, Olivia Thompson, Harvey and Annette Tew, Betty and Rex Granberry, and Shirley Cotton, and a dear friend, Gary Rotten, who was with Fred for eighteen years.
