Frederick “Freddy” Arnold Hollon, 71, a resident of Webb passed away Wednesday evening, November 27, 2024 at his home.


 Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2024 in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wallace Reynolds and Rev. Larry Sowell officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM on Sunday in the chapel prior to services.


 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church 2620 Eddins Road Dothan, Al 36301 or Gideons International Dothan South Camp 133 Princeton Drive Dothan, AL 36301.


 Freddy was born on October 20, 1953 to James Virgil and Patsy Irene Castleberry Hollon in Pensacola, Florida. They moved to Dothan in his early years. He graduated from Dothan High School in 1971. He attended Wallace College and later Auburn University where he graduated in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as city traffic engineer  in Montgomery early in his career. Later he served as county engineer for Winston, Macon, Bullock, and currently Barbour County. Fred was a member of the Gideons International since 2006. He served as President of Camp, guest speaker to many churches, and traveled to El Salvador in 2011, Costa Rica in 2011, and Ecuador in 2016. He was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Dothan.


 He is preceded in death by his mother, Patsy I. Hollon; grandson, Joseph Beverly; and granddaughter, Kaci Mosley.


 Survivors include his wife of twenty-two years, Cathy J. Head Hollon of Webb; father, James V. Hollon of Dothan; two sons, Timothy (Stacy) Beverly of Enterprise, Chris (Felicia) Beverly of Taylor; daughter, Staci (David) Mosley of Webb; brother, Roger (Diane) Hollon of Dothan; sister, Connie (Robert) Goodson of Dothan; eight grandchildren, Destiny, Tyler, Kyle, Kayla, Charlie, Colin, Catherine, and Kaitlynn; and several nieces and nephews.


 Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Snellgrove, Wade Goodson, Kyle Mosley, Cade Goodson, Stan Head, Critt Snellgrove and David Mosley.


 Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Gideons of Alabama and Northwest Florida.
