G.D. (Buddy) Pierce, 77, from Enterprise Alabama, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, November 25, 2018 after an extended illness. He passed peacefully with his family by his side.
Buddy was born June 22, 1941 in Clanton Alabama. He was a brick mason by trade, recognized in Southeast Alabama as a master craftsman of brick and stonework. He was highly skilled in other construction trades and loved all things outdoors but most of all, growing plants and flowers.
Visitation and A Praise Celebration of Buddy’s Life will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Damascus Baptist Church, 774 County Road 547, Elba, AL 36323. Visitation will begin at 9:00AM with the Praise Celebration start at 11:00 AM, followed by lunch in the fellowship hall. Officiating the Praise Celebration will be Steve Watson of Damascus Baptist Church and Cliff Quincey of New Home Baptist Church. A Private graveside service will be held at Meadowlawn Perpetual Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Vester Pierce, Clanton, AL ; 5 sisters , Thelma Pierce, Clanton AL, Myrtle Pierce, Clanton AL, Maggie Pierce Sandlin, Clanton AL, Jewel Pierce Scott, Prattville AL, Mattie Rae Pierce Patrick, Prattville AL ; and 5 brothers, Leon Pierce, Montgomery AL, John Pierce, Clanton AL, Wilbert Pierce, Prattville AL, Jesse Pierce, Clanton AL, James Pierce, Clanton AL.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jannie Sue Hicks, Enterprise, AL; his son, Mark Elliott Pierce (Margaret), Auburn, AL; grandsons, David Cox, Daleville AL, Nathanial Cox, Auburn AL, and 3 great grandchildren, Braden, Kalen and Patience Cox ; one brother, Herbert Pierce, Fairhope, AL; sister, Joyce Pierce White Fitzgerald, Danville, AL ; sister, Shirley Pierce Newberry Owens, Clanton, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
