Gail Marsh Matthews of Samson, Alabama passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was 77.

 Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2024 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery in Samson, Alabama with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from. 10:00 a.m. until service time.

 Gail was born December 24, 1946 in Ocoee, FL to the late James Taft and Connie Pearl Bedsole Marsh. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She worked very hard throughout her life and always helped others when she could. She enjoyed fishing and attending church. She was a faithful member of Samson First Baptist Church and attended as long as her health permitted.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Junior Matthews and three brothers, Benny, Doug and Kenneth Marsh.

 Gail is survived by three children, Wendy Mock (Dennis) and Debby Venegas (Felipe), all of Samson, AL, and Charles Douglas Nelson, Jr. (Debbie) of New Brockton, AL; seven grandchildren, Billy Herod (Allison) of Oklahoma, Matthew Herod (Stephanie Tamez) of Denton, TX, Jonathon Herod of Whitesboro, TX, Dylan Mock (Bailey) and Dallas Mock (Tonya) all of Samson, AL, Megan Nelson and Anna Nelson of New Brockton, AL; three great grandchildren, Owen, Mason and Brodi Mock all of Samson, AL; one sister, Garland Royals (Doug Davis) of Crestview, FL and one brother, Gerald Marsh of Tyler, TX; a special number nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.
