Gail Sue Abbott known to friends and family as “Susie” of Ewell, AL passed away due to a long term illness on Friday June 15, 2012. She was born January 7, 1949.

Susie was very involved with the Ozark-Dale County Humane Society along with her loving partner of 12 years, Ruth Scheipe. She loved all animals especially her own pets at home. She was an avid Auburn football fan and also enjoyed watching Nascar Racing.

She loved music, art, cooking, the theatre and to crochet. She especially loved spending time at home with her beloved Ruthie, her family and her friends.

She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Ashleigh Nicole Haag, great grandson Justin Lee Kough and her great granddaughter Macaila Jane Martin. She is survived by her partner Ruth Scheipe, daughters Dena Haag (Colorado), Nicole Thomley (Ozark) and Kelly Meisenheimer (Florida). Grandchildren Kayla Haag Ferns, Taylor Sharp, Corey Meisenheimer, Jordan Sharp, Christopher Haag, Morgan Meisenheimer and Layten Baker; great-granddaughter, Klara Stokes.

There will be no memorial service. However, if anyone would like to honor her they can by donating to the Ozark-Dale County Humane Society at P.O Box 2502 Ozark, Alabama 36361 in her memory.
