GARY ANDREW WHITEHEAD
ABBEVILLE…Gary Andrew Whitehead, a resident of Abbeville, died Monday morning, October 22, 2012, at his residence. He was 32.
Memorial services will be 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Thomas D. Gamble officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery AIDS Outreach, 545 West Main Street, Suite 309, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
Gary Andrew Whitehead, son of Gary Lamar Whitehead and the late Brenda Turner, was born in Ft. Gaines, Georgia, and was raised in Henry County between Abbeville and Ft. Gaines. He formerly lived in Abbeville, Ft. Myers, Florida, and Headland before returning to Abbeville in 2009. Mr. Whitehead attended Freedom Fellowship in Abbeville. In earlier years, he was employed as a restaurant manager for Hardee’s in Abbeville, Taco Bell in Eufaula, Ruby Tuesday in Sebring, Florida, and was a server at Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Ft. Myers, Florida. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Wayne Morris and Edna Morris and Mary Frances Whitehead; aunt, Teresa Kirkland.
Surviving relatives include his father and step-mother, Gary Whitehead and Brenda Benton Whitehead, Abbeville; one sister, Tonya Renae Day husband, Ben, Abbeville; half-sister, Melanie Skelton and husband, Brian, Ewell community; a step-sister, Shannon Strickland Giles and husband, Sterlin Giles, Abbeville; a half-brother, Chris Gilmer, Ozark; grandparents, Frank and Myrtice Benton, Abbeville; a niece, Ashlyn Ard; two nephews, Alec Sanders and Parker Skelton and several cousins including, Kenny Mayo.
