GEARLDEAN T. "DOLL" KINCEY


ASHFORD….Gearldean T. "Doll" Kincey formerly of Abbeville, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at a Dothan hospital. She was 79.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00  A.M. Saturday, August 31, 2019, in the Oakey Grove Promise Land Baptist Church, Bakerhill, Alabama, with Pastor Ella Johnson officiating and Pastor Harold Kincey and Pastor Vanessa Richard giving eulogies. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory.  Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. 


Mrs. Gearldean T. Kincey was born May 19, 1940  in Barbour County to the late Robert and Pauline Turner.  She was happily married to the late Hoggro Kincey, and to this beautiful union seven wonderful children were born.  Mrs. Kincey took her wings on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.  She was seventy-nine years old.  She lived most of her lifetime in Clopton, Alabama before moving six years ago to Ashford, Alabama.  Mrs. Kincey loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible. She counted it a great joy whenever opportunity presented an occasion for her to get together with her sisters to have breakfast or to meet for lunch. She was especially grateful and proud to have shared in rearing her granddaughter, Gabrielle.


Mrs. Kincey was preceded in death by her husband, Hoggro Kincey; daughter, Eveline Kelley; father, Robert Turner; mother, Pauline Turner; two sisters:  Meller Dixon and Willie Mae Grubbs; and one brother, Amos Turner.  She leaves to cherish her memories six loving and compassionate children:  Harold Kincey (Betty); Arbie Kincey (Rose); Walter Kincey (Brenda); Vanessa Richard (Roosevelt); Priscilla Turner (Kenneth); and Melissa Banks (Calvin).  Her loyal and affectionate sisters:  Ada Bains, Alice Kincey, Odell Jackson, Easter Young, and Lucy Furman.  Her caring and devout brothers:  James Turner, George Turner, and Willie Paul Turner.  One sister-in-law, Queen Mills (Robert); and two brother-in-laws, Jamie Lee Kincey (Janet); and C.H. Kincey (Janie).  Seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, neices, family, and friends.
