Gene Crosby, a resident of Ashford, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at his residence. He was 66.


A memorial service will be held for the family Friday, April 30, 2021, at Wayside Baptist with Dr. Johnny Roberts officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to your church or to a charity of your choice.


Gene was born February 17, 1955 in Donalsonville, Georgia to Arthur Leroy and Sarah Evelyn Shoemaker Crosby and lived the early years of his life in the Crosby community. He was a 1974 graduate of Malone High School. Gene was the shop manager of Herring Outsource for over 20 years. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church.


He is predeceased by his parents, father-in-law, Reverend Pete Blackshear and a  brother-in-law, Don Wilson.


He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debra Blackshear Crosby of Ashford; a daughter, Tennille Crosby of Ashford; four brothers, Jackie Crosby (Betty) of Gainesville, FL, Bill Crosby (Sheila) of Donalsonville, GA; Buddy Crosby (Jennifer) of Crosby, AL, David Crosby (Debbie) of Plant City, FL; two sisters, Faye Roberts (Johnny) of Lake Seminole, GA and Brenda Wilson of Malone, FL; a grandchild, Finley Crosby of Ashford; special great-nephews, Zander Blackshear of Cowarts and Davy Dasinger of Cowarts; a mother-in-law, Mary Blackshear of Cowarts; a sister-in-law, Amy Blackshear of Cowarts, a  brother-in-law, Cliff Blackshear (Barbara) of Macclenny, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
