GENE “WAYNE” STEPHENS
HEADLAND, AL… Gene “Wayne” Stephens, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Saturday evening, April 1, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was 60.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Stephen Doss and Terry Lail officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Stephens was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Gene Arthur Stephens and Martha Lillian Britt Stephens. He had lived in Eufaula, Alabama for thirty-one years prior to moving to Headland, Alabama five years ago. He worked with Jim Skinner Honda in Dothan, Alabama before becoming medically retired. Wayne loved going to car shows, swaps, or anything dealing with classic cars.
Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Cynthia Stephens and Debbie Lynn Stephens; and his brother, Jeff Stephens.
Leaving to cherish his memories is his wife, April Stephens; his daughters, Kristi Srichan (Rudee) and Kim Wilcox (Nate); his sister, Brenda Moree (Tommy); his grandchildren; Austin Srichan, Brendon Srichan, Cooper Srichan, Parker Srichan, Marley Wilcox, and Rhett Wilcox; and very good friend whom he thought of as a brother, Jeremy Forehand.
