George Bently Engle








Born May 22, 1939 in Kansas City, KS George Bently Engle died on November 17, 2019 at the age of 80 at his home in New Brockton, AL.


George’s formal education included Winchester High School, graduate of Pittsburg State University, and a Law Degree from Washburn University all in the “Jayhawk” State of Kansas. He loved sports especially college football and the “Oklahoma Sooners.”


George served his community as a police officer in Topeka, KS; his country as an Army officer in Vietnam and Germany; his profession as a corporate lawyer; and his family as a caregiver and historian.


The youngest of seven children, he is survived by his ex-wife Carol Engle Berry, daughter Kimberly Ann Engle, granddaughter Samantha Engle, oldest brother L. Edward Engle, numerous nieces and nephews along with friends and neighbors who lovingly called him “Uncle.”


A Celebration of Life Service will be announced to the Wiregrass Community in AL with a Graveside Internment Service at Nortonville, KS in the near future.
