George David O’Mary, 86 of Dothan, AL passed away Monday, February 29, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the
First Baptist Church of Dothan with Dr. Johnny Fain officiating.
Family graveside will follow in Dothan City Cemetery with Ward Wilson
Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 P.M.
Thursday, March 3, 2016, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of
flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church.

Mr. O’Mary was born on November 13, 1929 in Williamston, NC and was
the oldest of six children. George served in the US Army during the
Korean War. Upon leaving the Army, George worked at Alabama Machinery
and Supply and later owned with partners Alabama Bearings and Supply.
Upon his retirement he enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing with his
friends. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and served on the board
of the Dothan Country Club. He was also a member of the Woodsmen Golf
Group and the Green Valley Country Club.

George is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jackie of Dothan. He is
also survived by his son, Mark; daughter-in-law Katie and three
grandchildren, David, Emily and Ellen; all of Dothan; two sisters Avon
(Clifton) Garner of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Frances Harris of Rocky
Mount, NC.

He is preceded in death by his parents David Alfred and Lily Waters
O’Mary, brother Joseph Eugene, and sisters Aileen, and Grace.
