George "Glen" Wilkins, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on July 4, 2024, at the age of 77.

He was born on June 30, 1947, to Pete and Grace Wilkins, both of whom preceded him in death. Glen’s life will be celebrated in a service on Tuesday at 11 AM at Damascus Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Steve Watson will be officiating the service, and Sorrells Funeral Home is directing. Visitation is scheduled from 10AM until the service time.

Glen, known to many as an avid sports enthusiast, had a passion for fishing and enjoyed playing and watching sports such as softball, basketball, and track. A devoted Alabama football fan, he found joy in cheering on his favorite team. He was an artist who loved drawing and woodwork. His green thumb was evident in his love for gardening, but above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. After retiring from his career in civil service and working as a pest control expert and maintenance professional, he cherished the moments shared with his loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy Floyd Wilkins, his daughter Dawn Nall (Heath), and his son Dustin Wilkins. Glen also leaves behind three brothers, Gary Wilkins, Guy Wilkins (Angie), Mike Wilkins (Melissa), and one sister, Jean Mitchell (Robert). His memory will be cherished by his three grandchildren, Austin Nall, Amber Nall, and Maecon Wilkins.

George "Glen" Wilkins will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering love for his family, and his passion for life. May his legacy live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Damascus Baptist Church in Glen’s name at 774 County Road 547 Elba, Alabama 36323.
