George H. Landingham of Samson passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.  He was 82.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. James Davis, officiating.  Burial will follow at Eight Mile Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, directing.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.


Mr. Landingham was born in Lakewood, FL on February 28, 1939, to the late Grady Phonso Landingham and Inez Zorn Landingham.  Prior to his retirement, he worked as an aircraft mechanic in Ft. Rucker for more than thirty-two years.  Mr. Landingham also served in the Alabama Army National Guard.  He loved mullet fishing and tending to his garden.  


He is survived by his wife, Margaret Landingham; two daughters, Ibbie Glisson, and Angela Sanders; two sons, Ira Landingham, Sr. all of Samson, and Jeff Landingham of Temple, GA; two brothers, Gerald Landingham, and Norman Landingham, both of Samson; five grandchildren, Billy Hilton Landingham, Isabella Landingham, Abigail Landingham, Aira Landingham, and Ira Landingham, Jr. and two sisters, Annette Cooper, of Samson, and Florence Pelham of Bridge City, TX.
