GEORGE LESTER SPANN
ASHFORD. . .George Lester Spann, a resident of Ashford, died Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017, at his home. He was 63.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 10, 2017, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Mr. Chris Lasseter officiating. Burial will follow in the Dothan City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Camellia Hospice, 3245 Montgomery Highway, Suite 8, Dothan, AL 36303.
Lester Spann was born in Quincy, Florida and was reared in Tallahassee, son of the late George Russell Spann and Lessie Emily Scott Spann. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War era. Lester was formerly employed by Buffalo Rock Bottling Company as a Sales Manager. He lived in Tallahassee and Headland most of his lifetime.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Sonya Spann Tedder (Austin), Ashford; and Amber Spann Gallion (Charles), Rehobeth; two sons, Phillip Spann (Tracy), Taylor, AL; and Nathan Spann (Susy), Ashford; a sister, Rachell S Smith (Loyd), Crawfordville, FL; ten grandchildren, Lauryn Clemmons, Hunter Clemmons, Alyssa Gallion, Allie Gallion, Kayla Dawkins, Camryn Spann, Cade Spann, Summer Spann, Jacob Spann and Georgia Spann.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Michael Hicks, Jason Watson, Jason McCorkle, Dennis Whiddon, Chad Wise, Henry Barbree, Sid Morris and Charlie Turner.
